A belated entry
Gutten Tag! I am in Potsdam (about half an hour from Berlin) now. The last three days in Paris were pretty fantastic; lots of random wandering, and LOTS of eating. Went to the The Louvre and D'Orsay. Swear to god, I almost killed a couple of tourists in line. Bastards. I was pretty damn buggered by that time, so evening fun time adventures were definitely kept to a minimum. I believe one evening, as I was dying from fatigue, I was in bed by 9! Talk about enjoying the Paris nightlife, and being a wild child. Holy crap, my parents really SHOULD be worrying about all that crazy stuff I am up to! HOWEVER, I did manage to spend a good majority of my funds on touristy goods. And, unfortunately for you all, it was mostly for me. : D Now on to Germany - the start was a little rocky, with me going on about eleventy billion trains in the wrong direction. I ended up in the right place, but about seven years after I should have been there. Then Kristin (Christina's friend that was kind enough to let me hang out with her for a week) and I went to Tegel Airport to pick up Christina. Which took about another eleventy billions years. I am sure she will alert most of you to her amazing ability to forget her lugage. So a trip to a barbed wire bunker was accomplished, and we left with the bags..... finally. Today we toured around Potsdam, and various castles. I wish we had castles. Does anyone feel like staging a political uprising that is totally based on Canada including more castles? We shan't return Parliament Hill until we have more regal buildings scattered around. And not all in Ontario either. ANYWAY, touring was enjoyable, and actually having people to chat to was awesome. Sharing experiences rocks my socks. THEN (and this has been the big part of my day) we went to the supermarket. AND THE ALCOHOL IS SO CHEAP! Holy mother of god, it rulez. Like, a bottle of wine is €2 (about $4). And the hard alcohol was amazingly well priced as well! I was in heaven. I have decided to move to Germany and become an alcoholic. Brilliant plan, go me. Okay, now Christina wants to send an account of her adventures in the Airports of the World, so I shall leave the computer to her! *German kiss* Jane P.S. I KNOW more of you want postcards, address me up people! |
