So I'm sitting at my computer. The network was down all morning, rendering me absolutely bored. The strange little man from the computer service place came to assist. He failed the first time, but succeeded (only on my machine) the second. So now I must be extremely quiet about my having an internet connection, as I might actually be asked to do work. *shh*

Some woman just came into my office, with bewilderment scrawled across her face. "Can I help you?" I ask. She responds with "Where can I find room 422?"
I pause.
"Well, you'd find that on the fourth floor.... not the second floor, where we currently are"
She walks off.

So Liberal minority with NDP swing. But not much of a freaking swing. Together, they only just cover one half of the votes. Does this spell success? Negative. Nothing will be achieved. You may look towards previous minority governments that passed healthcare and the Canadian Pension Plan as an indication of the good a minority government can do. But really now, who in their right mind would want to disagree with that? Currently, there are no events on the board that will encourage unanimity. I can see contention just for the sake of being a shit disturber. To add wood to a pointless political fire, Martin has claimed he will not attempt to form a coalition. So with that slap in the face, I'm not sure the NDPers are going to be the most supportive folks on the planet.

My prediction - there will be another federal election in about a year. I think we should start a pool, and each person can choose a month. I'm going with February next year. A government can not survive if it lacks the power to pass legislation. The constituents will be dissapointed in the distinct lack of action (although I'm not quite so sure that they have a right to be put out, as this election had the lowest voter turnout since 1867). If Martin doesn't call an election, then the Liberals will be targeted as a "useless" party that doesn't create a better and more prosperous country, and will lose (more) support.

HOWEVER, I have a fantastic plan. Liberal and Bloc coalition. Provided that everyone in that coalition votes in favour, that is over 60% of the house. You KNOW it is the way of the future. Consider that during the debate Gilles and Paul rarely ever nearly got into a boxing match (unlike Martin or Harper with Layton - I'm quite sure his inability to move his arms beyond his elbows is indicative that he was once trained as a "Rock 'em, Sock 'em" robot).

In dissapointing news, Fletcher won. I say the Conservatives deserve him. Give them two weeks with him, and they will want to burn him at the stake. Could you not see Fletcher's evil face laughing through the flames? I've heard that the devil can't be burnt - maybe they will be able to prove that hypothesis.

And that is all... oh, I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 last night. Fantastic film. I recommend going to see it. It's fun to see propaganda from the opposite side!
